Kevin Dyson, former NFL Tennessee Titan Wide Receiver, now assistant principal and athletic director

A first-round draft pick by the Titans in 1998, former Titans wide receiver Kevin Dyson (1998-02) was involved in two of the most memorable plays in NFL history. He scored the game-winning touchdown known as the "Music City Miracle" in Tennessee's AFC wild card victory over Buffalo in 1999 and was tackled one yard short of scoring the game-tying touchdown as time expired against the St. Louis Rams in Super Bowl XXXIV.

It was his time growing up that help mold him in the person and athlete he became. After being raised predominately by a single mother, Mr. Dyson, the oldest of four, boasted to his mother that one day he would go into the NBA and buy her a house. His mother, did not discourage him from his dream, rather she put more of an emphasis on education and the importance of going to college and getting a degree as opposed to putting all his eggs into the proverbial “professional dream”. It must have worked, because Mr. Dyson now owns two graduate degrees from Trevecca Nazarene University and is presently pursuing a third, a doctorate in Leadership and Practical Practice. In addition, Mr. Dyson was a two sport All-state performer at Clearfield High School, and he was a captain on the winning 1992 Class 4A Utah High School State Championship football team.

Mr. Dyson now consistently and avidly speaks to and mentors youth in the Metro Nashville area about his journey to present day. He now resides in the Franklin, TN with his wife LaRosa Truth and their two kids, Genesis Emree (5) and Korynne Elyse (3) and works as an assistant principal at Independence High School in Thompson Station, Tennessee.
